Post Office internal investigation

On the BBC website there is a news story about the Post Office hiring ex-police officers to investigate its internal investigators. This looks to be a valid attempt to do a deep dive into what went wrong with the process.

Hopefully, it is not just a smokescreen to take the spotlight off senior management at the Post Office who appear to have ignored earlier investigations such as the Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Second Sight. This on top of their own investigation commissioned in 2010.

Similarly, the question of Horizon reliability was investigated and reported by Computer Weekly in 2009 and has been reported in Private Eye since 2011. This should have been ringing alarm bells with the Post Office senior team as part of their assurance that processes were working as they should.
